Why “Stamppot met Rodekool”?
A combination and the shape of Red (Roodkool) and White (Stampppot) represent Japanese flag, and, at the same time, the picture of this menu served with Delft blue porcelain shows Dutch flag.
This Stamppot depicts a fresh interpretation by cultural differences with humor.

About project
This exhibition presents Japanese talented designers in the Netherlands. It is planned to be held in two countries, start in the Netherlands and in Japan with ongoing research. A report presenta-tion over the consequence of the exhibition and the research is brought back to the Netherlands to complete the project.
There are exhibited design/art works and the passage of time surrounding the creations which contains the past=creating process, the present=products and the future=integration into daily life and feedback.
To be beforehand with the exhibition, we invite people in the Netherlands to have the works in their private space (home/work space) for one month. Brief explanations on their concepts and histories are given by the designers/artists at the very beginning, yet participants are encouraged to invent imaginatively their own ways of use in order to introduce the works into their life styles. Four meetings during the month are set with each of those participants at his/her location to ask him to demonstrate where and how the work is used at the point of each meeting. We document, by filming, the passage of how design/art works expand their original intents or/and generate new perspectives besides the creators’ viewpoints, and integrate gradually into our daily life.
This result is to be presented in the form of documentary film alongside the graduation projects in the first and second exhibitions. The same research process is to be held in Japan before and during the second exhibition in Tokyo, which adds the showing of the works in Japanese homes/workspaces in Tokyo as ongoing research. Both consequences in comparison are to be presented and shared in a report meeting back in the Netherlands
