Cast-off Skin

Coexistence and mutual growth
Opening my closet, there are so many clothes that are waiting for to be a new castoff skin. They have stains, holes, fluffs, and runs. I don’t want to call these marks as ”worn-outs”. Each of them is mirroring my history and my presence. Time gives a piece of clothing “an another value.” It is endless engraving time. [Design time].
A piece of clothes, which was made by a designer, will be gradually changed by a wearer’s behavior and the events around it such as coffee marks. Every moment shows that the foreign object come closer to your existence by the mark. To start wearing means to start re-designing the clothes. [Trace yourself].
Clothing has continuously grown, as long as you exist as a wearer.

Based on this concept six pieces of clothing are made; Tear, Pray, Twitch, (Dis)colaration, Ladder, Holes. Different human actions and production of fabric are featured in each piece.

Tutumi Bag

tutu-mi: Wrapping. Hieroglyphically depict an unborn baby in a womb.
This bag is inspired by the origin of this character and FUROSHIKI, a Japanese traditional wrapping by a piece of fabric.
This bag choreographs you as a new movement in your life. When you twist the circle, the frame bends and forms a shape of three small circles. Then close the zipper.
Bead-shaped foam polystyrene is floating between nylon fabric because of small static electricity. This phenomenon draws an abstract image of an unborn baby, and functions as a protection at the same time.

A-hand Glove

Hands say more than words. A big woman Helga(72) walks with her walking cart and always happily talks about her three children. She has rings from these children, which already unified with her wrinkled fingers. her red nails shine with womanhood beside wrinkles.
This glove symbolizes her motherhood, womanhood and age. Firstly this can be worn as an accessory, or can be worn as a glove, which hinders movement.
1. no stretching of the arm
2. not able to move the arm backward
This restriction is another symbol of herself.
